Getting There

Car
If you are driving from the center of Toro, start by heading east on the main road towards Fort Portal. Continue straight for about 20 kilometers until you reach the Nyakasanga roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout to continue on the Kyenjojo Road. After approximately 5 kilometers, look for a sign for Nyambogo. Turn left onto the road leading into Nyambogo. Follow this road for about 10 minutes until you arrive at Busitema Forest, located at J257+74.

Public Transportation
To reach Busitema Forest using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from the main taxi park in Toro heading towards Fort Portal. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will stop at Nyakasanga or Nyambogo. The fare should be around 3,000 UGX per person. Once you reach the Nyakasanga roundabout, get off and wait for another matatu that goes towards Kyenjojo. After about 5 kilometers, inform the driver you want to get off at the Nyambogo junction. From there, you can either walk for about 10 minutes to the forest or arrange for a local boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to Busitema Forest for an additional cost of around 2,000 UGX.
