Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Arua, the main city in West Nile. Take the Gulu-Arua Road (A1) heading southeast for about 220 km until you reach the town of Jinja. Once in Jinja, follow the signs to the Ripon Falls. The falls are located near the source of the Nile River, approximately 2 km from Jinja town center. You will need to pay a small entrance fee at the gate, usually around 5,000 UGX, for access to the area.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi from Arua to Jinja. The journey will take approximately 5-6 hours. Once you arrive in Jinja, you can take a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or a local taxi to reach Ripon Falls. The boda-boda ride should cost around 3,000-5,000 UGX. Ensure you provide the driver with clear directions to the falls, which are located about 2 km from the Jinja town center.
Walking
If you are already in Jinja and prefer to walk, you can start from the town center. Head towards the Nile River, following the signs for Ripon Falls. The walk is about 30 minutes and is quite scenic. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, especially during the warmer parts of the day.
