Car
If you are driving from Mbale, take the Mbale-Sironko Road (A109) heading towards Sironko. After approximately 15 km, turn left onto the Sipi Road. Continue on this road for about 8 km until you reach Sipi Village. Mount Elgon Trekkers is located in Sipi, easily recognizable by its sign. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any local parking fees.
Public Transportation
From Mbale, you can take a shared taxi (matatu) heading to Sipi. These taxis leave from the Mbale taxi park and typically cost around 5,000 UGX. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Sipi, it's a short walk to Mount Elgon Trekkers. Look for signs or ask locals for directions if needed.
Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)
If you're in Sipi or nearby, consider hiring a boda boda for a quicker trip to Mount Elgon Trekkers. The cost for a boda boda ride from Sipi Village to the location is usually around 2,000-3,000 UGX. Make sure to negotiate the fare before the ride.
Walking
If you're already in Sipi and prefer to walk, Mount Elgon Trekkers is about a 15-minute walk from the Sipi Falls parking area. Head towards the main road, and follow the signs leading to the trekking center. This is a great way to take in the beautiful scenery of the area.
