Car
If you are traveling by car from Mbarara, head northeast on the Mbarara-Kabale road (A404). After approximately 85 kilometers, take the exit towards Kisoro and continue on the A404. After another 20 kilometers, turn right onto the road leading to Ouma's. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach Thimlich Ohinga Historic Site. Ensure your vehicle is well-prepared for rural roads, and be cautious of local wildlife.
Public Transport
To reach Thimlich Ohinga using public transport, take a bus or shared taxi from Mbarara to Kisoro. The journey will take around 2-3 hours. Upon reaching Kisoro, look for a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or a shared taxi heading towards Ouma's. The boda-boda ride will cost approximately 10,000 UGX and will take about 30 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they know the Thimlich Ohinga Historic Site.
Boda-Boda
If you are already in the vicinity of Ouma's, you can hire a boda-boda for a short ride to reach the Thimlich Ohinga Historic Site. The cost should be around 5,000 to 10,000 UGX depending on the distance. Make sure to negotiate the fare before the ride. The site is well-known among local drivers, so you shouldn't have trouble finding one.
