If you are driving from the Black Sea Coast, head northwest towards Kyiv. Follow the M14 highway, which connects the coastal cities to Kyiv. After approximately 500 km, merge onto the E95 road towards Kyiv. As you approach the city, follow signs for 'Centre' or 'Center' to reach the city center. Once in the city, navigate to Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) using GPS coordinates: 50.4495, 30.5254. There is limited parking around the square, and you may have to park in a nearby parking garage.

Public Transportation - Train

For those traveling by train, head to the nearest train station in your coastal city and purchase a ticket to the Kyiv Central Railway Station. Trains run frequently and the journey takes approximately 6-8 hours. Upon arriving at Kyiv Central Railway Station, exit the station and find the metro entrance. Take the Metro Line 1 (Red Line) towards 'Lisova' and transfer to Metro Line 2 (Blue Line) at 'Maidan Nezalezhnosti' station. Exit at 'Maidan Nezalezhnosti', and you will find the Independence Monument directly in front of you.

Public Transportation - Bus

If you prefer to travel by bus, take a long-distance bus from your coastal city to Kyiv. Buses are available at the main bus stations and the journey typically takes about 8-10 hours. Once you arrive at the Kyiv bus station, you can take the metro or a taxi to reach Maidan Nezalezhnosti. To use the metro, find the nearest station and take Line 1 (Red Line) to 'Maidan Nezalezhnosti'. The monument is located right at the square.

Once in Kyiv, if you prefer a more direct route to the Independence Monument, you can use a taxi or a rideshare service like Uber. Simply input 'Independence Monument, Maidan Nezalezhnosti' into the app, and the driver will take you directly to the monument.
