Getting There

Walking
If you are in central Donetsk, start at the Donetsk Main Train Station. Exit the station and head south on Artema Street. Continue walking straight for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Chelyuskintsev Street. Turn left onto Chelyuskintsev Street and keep walking for about 500 meters. You will reach the City Council building on your right. From there, continue straight for another 300 meters until you see the large square ahead. This is Independence Square. Look for the prominent fountain in the center.

From any location in Donetsk, find the nearest bus or tram stop. Take tram number 1 or bus number 12 towards the city center. Get off at the stop named 'Independence Square' (Ploshcha Nezalezhnosti). Once you disembark, you will be directly at the square, where you can explore the area and see the fountain and surrounding buildings.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Donetsk Botanical Garden. Cycle north along the park's main path towards the city center. When you reach the intersection with Artema Street, turn right and continue straight for about 2 kilometers. After passing through several intersections, you will reach Independence Square.
