Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the city center of Yaremche. Take Pidskelna Street and head towards the east. The drive is approximately 15 minutes (about 7 km). Follow the road signs towards Hoverla Mountain, and you will find Elephant Rock on your left side. There is limited parking available nearby, so be sure to arrive early during peak tourist seasons to secure a spot.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Ivano-Frankivsk to Yaremche. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Yaremche bus station, walk towards Pidskelna Street. It’s about a 20-minute walk. Head east on Pidskelna Street, and you will reach Elephant Rock in approximately 15 minutes. Be aware that you may need to pay a small fee for the bus, usually around 50-100 UAH depending on the service.
Hiking
If you are already on the trails of Hoverla Mountain, you can reach Elephant Rock by hiking. Depending on your starting point, follow the marked trails heading towards Pidskelna Street. Make sure to bring proper hiking gear and check trail maps, as the hike can take several hours. The scenery is beautiful, so take your time and enjoy your surroundings.
