The Name Shops - Belfast, Belfast Travel Guide

The Name Shops is a small family-run enterprise with over 15 years of experience sourcing and personalising baby and children's products. Founded by Andy and Tanya Copeland, the business has grown from pop-up appearances across UK shopping centres to established retail locations in Belfast and Glasgow. Now managed by their daughter Chloe as Managing Director, the shop brings trusted, high-quality products directly to customers seeking meaningful, customised gifts for newborns and young children.

The defining feature of The Name Shops is its on-demand embroidery service, available while you shop. Customers browse the carefully selected range of baby clothing, blankets, bags, and accessories, then choose their desired personalisation—typically names, initials, or special dates. The in-store embroidery team works while you wait, with an average turnaround of 20–30 minutes depending on demand. This immediacy transforms a simple shopping visit into a bespoke experience, allowing you to leave with a finished, personalised gift the same day rather than waiting for postal delivery.

The shop specialises in products specifically chosen for their suitability to personalisation. The inventory includes baby clothing in various sizes, christening gifts, milestone blankets, nursery accessories, and gift items suitable for baby showers and new arrival celebrations. All products are selected with durability and quality in mind, reflecting the business's commitment to offering items that families will treasure. The range caters to parents, grandparents, godparents, and gift-givers seeking something more thoughtful than off-the-shelf alternatives.

The Name Shops occupies a prominent position on the lower mall of CastleCourt Shopping Centre, one of Belfast's largest and most visited retail destinations. CastleCourt houses over 80 stores, numerous cafés and restaurants, and extensive amenities including a multi-storey car park with 1,600+ spaces. The shopping centre's central location on Royal Avenue places the shop at the heart of Belfast's retail district, making it easily accessible whether visiting specifically for personalised gifts or while undertaking broader shopping. The centre's family-friendly design, including parent-and-child parking and accessible facilities, complements the shop's focus on baby and children's products.

Beyond the in-store embroidery experience, The Name Shops operates an online platform for customers unable to visit in person. Online orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days, with standard postage taking 3–5 working days, meaning most customers receive orders within approximately 5 working days. Tracked delivery with a tracking number is provided as standard. The shop emphasises the importance of checking personalisation details carefully before finalising orders, as customised items cannot be returned. If an error occurs on the shop's part, replacement items are dispatched promptly.

The shop benefits from CastleCourt's comprehensive accessibility features, including wheelchair access, accessible restrooms, and Shop Mobility services offering wheelchair and scooter hire. The centre's customer service desk, located on the lower mall opposite Boots, provides additional support including directions and general information. Staff at The Name Shops are experienced in helping customers select appropriate items and personalisation options, ensuring the final gift meets expectations.
