Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards the A470 road from your location in Brecknockshire. Follow the signs for Brecon and then continue towards the B4560. Turn onto the B4560 and follow it to the village of Pontneddfechan. Once in Pontneddfechan, look for signs for the waterfall car park. The car park is located at the end of a small lane off the B4560, near the entrance to the waterfall trail. There may be a small parking fee, so have some change ready.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Sgwd Yr Eira Waterfall via public transport, first take a bus from Brecon to Neath. From Neath, transfer to a local bus service (check the schedules for availability) that goes to Pontneddfechan. Once you arrive in Pontneddfechan, walk towards the village center and look for signs directing you to the waterfall. The trailhead begins from the village and leads to the waterfall, which is approximately a 30-minute walk. Ensure to check the bus times for your return trip.

• Walking

  If you have parked at the waterfall car park, follow the marked trail that leads from the car park towards the waterfall. The trail is approximately 1.5 miles long and will take you through beautiful woodland scenery along the River Hepste. The path can be uneven in places, so wear appropriate footwear. As you approach the waterfall, you'll hear the sound of rushing water before you see Sgwd Yr Eira cascading down. Be sure to take your time and enjoy the natural beauty around you!
