If you are driving from Bute, take the ferry from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay. The ferry ride takes about 35 minutes and costs approximately £5-£10 per person, depending on the time of year and vehicle type. Once you arrive at Wemyss Bay, head onto the A78 road towards Greenock and then merge onto the M8 motorway towards Glasgow. After about 20 miles, take the exit for the A82 towards Crianlarich, which will lead you directly towards the Loch Lomond area. Continue on the A82, and after about 10 miles, you will reach Balloch, the gateway to Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
