Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the centre of Cambridge, head south on Hills Road/A1307. Continue to follow A1307 for approximately 4 miles. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A14 ramp to Newmarket. Merge onto A14 and continue for about 3 miles. Take the exit toward B1102, then merge onto B1102. After about 1 mile, turn left onto Quy Road. Continue for about 1 mile, and you will see the entrance to Anglesey Abbey on your left. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a parking fee depending on your membership status with the National Trust.

  • Bus

    From Cambridge city centre, you can take the bus service 7 towards Newmarket. Board the bus at the Cambridge Drummer Street bus station. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Get off at the Lode (Anglesey Abbey) stop. From the bus stop, walk towards Quy Road and follow the signs for Anglesey Abbey, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

  • Train and Walk

    Take a train from Cambridge to the nearest train station, which is Waterbeach Station. The train journey takes about 10 minutes. From Waterbeach Station, you will need to walk approximately 2.5 miles to Anglesey Abbey. Exit the station and walk towards the village of Waterbeach, then follow the signs to Lode. Continue on the B1102 until you reach Quy Road, then turn left to arrive at Anglesey Abbey. Be prepared for a walk of around 50 minutes.
