The venue occupies a single large basement room beneath the Waterstones building on pedestrianised Sidney Street. Visitors descend from street level into an artificial environment of mirrored ceilings, glitter balls, booth seating, poser tables and an illuminated dance floor. Capacity sits around 650 to 720 standing. No outdoor space or natural views exist; everything is lit and air-conditioned for night-time use.

Glitterbomb operated as a weekly Tuesday residency here from 2016 until around May 2024. That branded night has ended. Current regular programming consists of Smash Hits Fridays and Rewind Saturdays focused on chart and retro pop. Any Glitterbomb event must now be verified through current listings, as later dates have appeared at other Cambridge venues.

A typical visit begins after 10pm with ID checks and entry payment. Guests check coats, then spend three to six hours on the dance floor or in booths. Music is loud, lighting is bright and the crowd is student-heavy with hen, stag and birthday groups. The atmosphere is introductory rather than exclusive, with drag performances and themed dress on past Glitterbomb nights.

The location sits in the city centre, a five-minute walk from Market Square. From Cambridge station allow 20 minutes on foot or six minutes by taxi. Buses reach the area by day; late-night return relies on taxis or rideshare. Driving is impractical due to pedestrian restrictions. The basement requires stairs or a stairlift with documented weight limits; wheelchair users should confirm access directly.

Licensed bar service, restrooms, cloakroom and booth seating are available during opening hours. No visitor centre or daytime facilities exist. Entry is typically modest single-digit pounds plus drinks; two-for-one offers run early in the evening. Age 18+ with photo ID is required. Minimum visit length is two hours; most stay three to five hours.
