Bar -OH opened in 2022 in a former Irish pub unit directly beside the Hilton Cambridge City Centre entrance. It operates as an independent business within Cambridge’s central retail and nightlife cluster near Grand Arcade and the main bus interchange. The interior is compact and dimly lit, with a downstairs stage framed by red curtains and a mezzanine level above. Low lighting, game sounds and live music create a playful yet intimate atmosphere suited to evening visits rather than daytime sightseeing.

Drinks are delivered by table service. Theatrical house cocktails arrive in unusual vessels including shark, parrot, bathtub and games-console shapes, often incorporating dry ice or foam-printed photos. Classic cocktails can be requested, and many marked drinks offer low- or no-alcohol versions. Wine and local craft beer complete the list. The venue does not function as a dining space.

Each table provides free access to retro consoles and board games. Available systems include Guitar Hero, racing wheels, arcade titles such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders, plus Wii, N64, GameCube, PlayStation and Xbox 360 units. Visitors commonly spend one to four hours at a console table, ordering drinks while playing. The format suits groups of friends or couples seeking an interactive evening rather than a quiet drink.

A small stage hosts regular performances. Monday features an open-mic night, Wednesday brings resident bartender-pianist Bryan for “Keys with Bryan”, and Sunday offers a “Plug and Play” jam session. Performers arriving before 20:30 on Monday or Sunday receive one free drink plus unlimited soft drinks, with house drum kit and PA supplied. Music nights can shift, so checking current listings is advisable.

Tables are allocated for set time slots. Punctual groups may spin a “Wheel of Punctuality” for shots or a discount. The robot doorman stands at the entrance. The venue accepts walk-ins but recommends bookings for guaranteed seating, especially on music nights. It draws both tourists finishing daytime sightseeing and local or student evening crowds.
