Parade sits inside No. 19 King's Parade, a Grade II listed structure with timber framing dating from around 1700, later refaced in brick and roughcast. The building forms part of the listed terrace 18–21 and carries a plaque noting that Edward FitzGerald lodged here while an undergraduate between 1826 and 1830. The ground-floor shop unit faces directly across the street toward King's College Chapel and the college screen, placing visitors in the ceremonial and tourist core of the University of Cambridge.

The sales space is a single narrow room typical of historic Cambridge shop units. Shelves and display cases hold teddy bears, including vintage and collectible examples, alongside toys, games, train sets, ornaments and Cambridge-themed souvenirs. There is no café, seating area or public restroom inside. The modest scale means that even moderate footfall on the street can make the interior feel busy, particularly during peak tourist hours.

Most people enter while walking King's Parade between the college and Market Square. A visit usually lasts 10 to 30 minutes and consists of browsing the displays and making a purchase or leaving without buying. The shop functions as a convenient stop rather than a destination in itself. Families with children are drawn to the toys and bears; other visitors seek small souvenirs while sightseeing.

King's Parade is a largely pedestrian thoroughfare lined with listed buildings, shops and cafés. The immediate view across the street is dominated by the chapel façade and stone screen. Public seating, bins and nearby cafés lie within a two- to five-minute walk. Public toilets are available at Market Square and in the Grand Arcade, but none are provided inside the shop.

The location is reached on foot from Cambridge station in 20–25 minutes or by local bus in around 15 minutes. King's Parade restricts most vehicles between 09:30 and 19:00, so arrival by car requires use of nearby car parks or Park & Ride services followed by a short walk. Cycling is common, and the street remains bike-friendly outside vehicle hours. Step-free entry depends on the modern shopfront, though the historic street surface includes some uneven paving.

The shop operates daily from 11:00 to 17:00. Street footfall peaks in summer, at weekends, during school holidays and university term time. Early mornings and midweek winter afternoons are quieter. Rain reduces lingering on the street, while clear mild days increase both crowds and the scenic appeal of the chapel view immediately outside the door.
