Within the park, visitors encounter several historic features, including medieval arches relocated from other parts of Chester, such as the 13th-century St Mary’s Arch from the Benedictine Nunnery. The park also houses important built structures by Chester architect John Douglas, including the striking Grosvenor Park Lodge, once the park keeper’s home and now a café and council office. Statues, such as the Second Marquess of Westminster statue, and community gardens like Billy Hobby’s Well add layers of cultural significance.

Grosvenor Park’s 20 acres include large flower beds planted twice yearly, creating vibrant displays in spring and summer. The Quarry Garden, with its mix of stone structures and planting, offers a peaceful retreat. The park’s location beside the River Dee provides scenic river views and habitats for local wildlife. The railway operates steam and diesel trains on weekends and holidays during most of the year, offering rides for £1 to £1.50. The open-air theatre hosts summer performances by Storyhouse, including Shakespearean plays and other cultural events, adding a vibrant arts dimension to the park experience.
