If you're driving, start from the center of Chester. Head out of the city taking the A56 towards Frodsham. Stay on the A56 for approximately 10 miles until you reach the roundabout with the A558. Take the second exit onto the A558 towards Frodsham. Continue straight until you reach Helsby. In Helsby, turn right onto Hill Road North. Harmers Wood will be located on your left. There is limited parking available near the entrance, so plan to arrive early.

Train and Walk
For those using public transport, take a train from Chester to Helsby Station. The train journey takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Helsby Station, exit the station and turn left onto the A56. Walk along the A56 for about 0.5 miles until you reach the roundabout. From there, take Hill Road North on your right. Continue walking along Hill Road North for approximately 1 mile, and you will find Harmers Wood on your left. Ensure to check the train schedule for return trips.

You can also take a bus from Chester to Helsby. Bus number X30 operates this route and takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Helsby, walk to Hill Road North by heading towards the A56. Turn right onto Hill Road North and walk for about 1 mile. Harmers Wood will be on your left. Buses depart regularly, but it's advisable to check the local timetable for exact times.
