Start at Patrick Street, a central location in Cork. Walk towards Oliver Plunkett Street, which is a pedestrian-friendly street filled with shops and cafes. Continue on Oliver Plunkett Street until you reach the junction with Washington Street. Turn right onto Washington Street and walk until you reach the intersection with MacCurtain Street. Turn left onto MacCurtain Street and continue until you reach the traffic lights at the junction with the South Link Road. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight onto Red Abbey Street. Follow Red Abbey Street for a short distance, and you will arrive at the Red Abbey Tower on your left.
Public Transport (Bus)
From Patrick Street, walk to the nearest bus stop located at St. Patrick's Quay. Take bus number 205 towards Ballintemple. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes, and get off at the stop named 'Ballintemple Church.' After exiting the bus, walk down the road towards Red Abbey Street. Turn right onto Red Abbey Street, and you will see the Red Abbey Tower a short distance ahead on your left.
Cycling
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the city center and head towards the River Lee. Follow the river path towards the south side, and when you reach the junction with the South Link Road, turn right. Continue cycling until you see the signs for Ballintemple. Follow the path leading to Red Abbey Street. As you approach, the Red Abbey Tower will be visible on your left. Ensure to use bike lanes where available for safety.
