If you are starting from the city center of Dundee, head south towards the Tay Bridge. As you approach the river, you will want to follow Riverside Drive along the waterfront. Continue walking along Riverside Drive until you reach the junction with the A85. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing to stay on the waterfront path. Continue along the path until you reach Broughty Ferry, where you will find the beach. From Broughty Ferry, you will need to take a train or a bus to St Andrews.

From the city center of Dundee, you can take a bus to St Andrews. Look for bus services such as the Xplore Dundee which runs regularly from Dundee to St Andrews. Get off at the bus stop in St Andrews, which is close to the town center. Once in St Andrews, follow the signs towards the coast, heading east to E Scores, which leads directly to Castle Sands. The walk from the bus stop to Castle Sands should take about 10-15 minutes.

Cycling
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in Dundee and take the cycle route along Riverside Drive towards Broughty Ferry. After enjoying the beach, continue cycling east on the A92 until you reach St Andrews. There are bike racks available near Castle Sands where you can park your bike. The cycling distance is approximately 20 miles, so plan your journey accordingly.
