Durham Market Place is served by multiple local bus routes connecting from Durham Bus Station and surrounding areas. Buses run frequently with travel times ranging from 10 to 20 minutes from key points in the city. Tickets cost approximately £2–£4. Note that services may reduce on Sundays and public holidays.

Train and Walking

Durham Railway Station is about 1.5 km from the Market Place. A 20-minute walk through the historic city centre leads directly to Durham Pointers. The route is mostly flat but includes some cobbled streets. Taxis are available outside the station for a 5-minute ride costing around £5–£7.

Car

Visitors driving to Durham Market Place should use nearby public car parks such as the Claypath or Milburngate car parks, both within a 5–10 minute walk. Parking fees range from £1.50 to £3.50 per hour. The Market Place itself is pedestrianized, so car access is restricted.
