If you prefer to walk, start from Durham Cathedral. Head down to the River Wear and follow the riverside path until you reach the footbridge. Cross the bridge and continue along the path until you reach the main road. Once on the road, you can follow signs for Broomside Lane. It will take approximately 1 hour to walk, so wear comfortable shoes.
