Getting There

  • Bus

    From the city center, head to St Andrew Square Bus Station. Take the Lothian Buses number 3, 21, or 49, which all head toward Portobello. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Portobello' stop, which is a short walk from the beach. Follow the signs pointing towards the sea, and you'll arrive at Portobello Beach.

  • Tram

    Take the Edinburgh Trams from the city center, starting at the 'York Place' tram stop. Ride the tram towards 'Airport' and get off at 'York Place' tram stop. From there, walk to the bus stop at 'North Bridge' and take Lothian Buses number 3, 21, or 49 to Portobello. The total journey will take around 40 minutes. Once you reach 'Portobello', follow the signs towards the beach.
