If you are starting from the Royal Mile, make your way to Castlehill. Head west on the Royal Mile towards St Giles' Cathedral. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Castlehill. Turn right onto Castlehill, and follow the road uphill. The Great Hall is located within the grounds of Edinburgh Castle at the end of Castlehill, which will be visible as you approach.

From Waverley Train Station, exit the station and head towards Market Street. Take the bus number 35 or the sightseeing bus towards the castle. Get off at the 'Castle' stop. From there, walk up Castlehill, which will take you directly to the entrance of Edinburgh Castle, where the Great Hall is located.
