Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Inverness City Centre, begin at the main pedestrian area around the Eastgate Shopping Centre. Head southwest on Union Street. Continue straight until you reach the River Ness. Once you reach the river, turn left and follow the riverside path along the River Ness. You will pass the Inverness Cathedral on your right. Keep walking along the river, passing the beautiful Wilkies of Inverness, until you reach the bridge leading towards the Ness Islands. Cross the bridge, and you will find yourself on the Ness Islands.

  • Public Transport

    From Inverness Bus Station, take Bus Route 1 or 2 towards the city centre. Get off at the stop nearest to the River Ness. From there, follow the directions for walking as described above.

  • Bicycle

    If you have a bicycle, you can rent one from a local bike shop in Inverness. Start your journey from the city centre and head towards the River Ness, following the same path as pedestrians. There are dedicated cycling paths along the river that will lead you directly to the Ness Islands.
