Car
If you are driving to Lancaster Castle, start by heading towards the M6 motorway. Depending on your starting point in Lancashire, navigate to the nearest junction for the M6. If coming from the north, take the M6 southbound and exit at junction 33. If coming from the south, take the M6 northbound and exit at junction 34. After exiting, follow the signs for Lancaster on the A683. Continue on the A683 until you reach the city center. Look for signs directing you to Castle Hill. The castle will be on your left. There is parking available nearby, but be aware of any parking fees. The postcode for your GPS is LA1 1YN.
Public Transportation
To reach Lancaster Castle by public transport, take a train to Lancaster Railway Station. If you are coming from major cities such as Manchester or Liverpool, direct trains are frequent. Once you arrive at Lancaster Railway Station, exit the station and turn right onto the A6. Walk approximately 15 minutes towards the city center. You can also catch a local bus from the station that goes towards the city center; look for services heading to 'Lancaster City Centre' and get off at the stop for Castle Hill. The castle is a short walk from there.
