History and Heritage

In 1927, major Norfolk brewers Steward & Patteson sold land to barrel maker Albert Davis, who built an oak-heavy bungalow there. Purchased in 1983 by the current owner, a lifelong home brewer, the site became the home of S&P Brewery in July 2013 after securing planning permission. The revival of the S&P trademark links back to Norfolk's brewing past, with a 10-barrel plant installed in a new 15x9 metre building.

Brewing Process

S&P uses an onsite bore well to avoid chlorinated mains water, ensuring pure brewing conditions. Crisp's Maris Otter malt and whole leaf hops form the backbone of their fine Norfolk ales. The 10-barrel plant produces award-winning beers celebrated for their quality and craftsmanship, as noted in local reviews praising 'brilliant beer as always.'

Location and Setting

Located on Brewery Lane in Horsford, Norwich NR10, the brewery sits on two acres of rural land amid the Norfolk countryside. Its position outside urban Norwich offers a peaceful escape, ideal for those exploring East Anglia's brewing scene. The site's historical ties and dedicated brewing facility make it a unique stop for beer lovers.
