Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Castleton, which is easily accessible from major routes in the Peak District. From the A623, take the B6049 towards Castleton. Upon entering Castleton, follow signs for 'Blue John Cavern'. The cavern is located at Cross St, Castleton, Hope Valley S33 8WH. There is a parking area available nearby, which may incur a small fee, typically around £2-£3 for a few hours.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Blue John Cavern via public transport, take a bus to Castleton from nearby towns such as Buxton or Hope. The bus services are operated by Hulleys of Baslow, and you can check schedules on their website. Once you arrive at the Castleton bus stop, it is approximately a 10-minute walk to the cavern. Simply head down the main road towards the center of Castleton, then follow the signs leading to Blue John Cavern.

• Walking

  If you are already in Castleton and prefer to walk, Blue John Cavern is easily reachable on foot. From the village center, make your way along Cross Street, following the signs for the cavern. The walk is around 15 minutes and takes you through the scenic village with beautiful views of the surrounding hills.
