Isle of Skye, Highlands and Islands Tour from Glasgow - 7 Days

Excellent Itinerary. Plus Useful September Planning Info

We had an absolutely fantastic time on this trip. We really lucked out with the weather. Jim was a fantastic tour guide and I felt the itinerary was packed but not overwhelming. We got to see a lot of Scotland and learn about its history and culture along the way thanks to Jim. Plan for a minumum of 5 miles of combined walking per day. The longest walk we wnt on couldn't have been over 2 miles in one stretch. The van was a Mercedes 9 seater with plenty of storage for the maximum size personal item you can bring on a plane in addition to the 24 inch luggage allowed. This is in case you were confused about the small personal item you were allowed. It was plenty comfortable for a 230 pound 5'11" guy. We didn't spend more than 2 hours in the van nonstop at any time and bathroom breaks are frequent for a young bladder but I would plan your water intake if I were a man of a certain age. The accomodations that they arranged for us were Meadowbanks Guest house in Portree, Hal O The Wind Guest House in Stornoway, and Ardentorrie Guest House in Inverness. They were all very comfortable and the last two offered excellent locally significant breakfasts included in the accomodation. We particularly enjoyed our hosts in Stornoway. The weather in late September was around 60F/15c but we were told it was a little warmer than usual. Plan for lots of wind/rain on the Isles. You will be adding and stripping layers often. Waterproof shoes are recommended but all of the paths were well maintained and weren't "lose a boot" mucky. I highly recommend this trip and company.

Isle of Lewis and Harris 5 Day Tour from Edinburgh

Harris Beyond Words

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an absolutely incredible experience! I cannot recommend Experience Scotland’s Wild highly enough. This was so much more than simply a sightseeing tour — it was five unforgettable days experiencing the landscapes, history, culture and stories of Scotland. Our guide, Andrew, was exceptional. Welcoming, knowledgeable, informative and genuinely passionate about Scotland, he brought every place we visited to life. What made it particularly special was hearing Andrew share stories from his own childhood and personal experiences. His enthusiasm was infectious and gave us a connection to the places we visited that you simply wouldn’t get travelling on your own. The scenery was beyond words. Luskentyre Beach was breathtaking, the Butt of Lewis was spectacular, and visiting St Moluag’s Church was an incredibly special and memorable experience. There were countless other beautiful stops along the way, and I loved that we had time to actually experience them rather than simply arrive, take a photograph and move on. The whole tour was extremely well organised while still feeling relaxed, friendly and personal. There was a wonderful balance of spectacular scenery, history, local knowledge and those unexpected little moments that make a trip truly memorable. I came to Scotland hoping to see some beautiful places, but this tour gave me so much more than that. I finished the five days with a much deeper appreciation for Scotland, its people, its history and its extraordinary landscapes. Thank you Andrew and Experience Scotland’s Wild for an experience I will remember for many years to come. If you are considering this tour, book it — you won’t regret it.
