From Stirling Train Station, a 20-minute uphill walk on cobbled streets leads to the castle entrance. The route is steep and may be challenging for visitors with mobility issues. No direct shuttle service is available. Tickets to Stirling are widely available from major Scottish cities.
Bus
Local Stirling buses serve stops near the castle, with a short uphill walk required. Bus frequency is moderate, with increased service during tourist seasons. Tickets cost approximately £2–£4 depending on origin within Stirling.
Car with Park and Ride
Use the Castleview Park and Ride (FK9 4TW) to avoid limited castle parking. The service runs regular buses dropping visitors a 5-minute walk from the castle. Parking is free; return bus tickets cost £1 for adults and 50p for children. The service is unavailable on Sundays.
Coach
Coach parking is available with 12 bays at the castle and 15 additional bays at Forthside Way. Drop-off is permitted, but parking spaces can fill quickly during peak periods. Booking coach parking in advance is recommended.
