Car
If you are driving, head towards the town of Alness in Sutherland. From Alness town center, follow the A836 road heading northwest. After approximately 2 miles, you will see signs for Fyrish Monument. Turn onto the B9176 road and continue until you reach the Fyrish Monument car park. The parking area is located at the base of the hill leading up to the monument.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus to Alness. Check local bus schedules for services that run from Inverness to Alness. Once in Alness, you can either walk to Fyrish Monument (which is about a 2-mile hike from the town) or take a taxi from the bus station to the car park at the base of the Fyrish Monument trail. Expect taxi fares to be around £10-£15 depending on the service.
Walking from Car Park
Once you have parked your car at the Fyrish Monument car park, the hike to the monument will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Follow the marked path that leads up the hill. The trail is well-defined, but be prepared for some steep sections. Make sure to wear suitable footwear and carry water, especially if you plan to spend time exploring the area.
