Travel Guide to St. Katharine Docks Drawbridge & Locks

Getting There

• Car

  From Sutherland, head south on the A9 towards Inverness. Continue on the A9 until you reach the junction with the A82, where you'll take the exit towards Glasgow. Continue on the A82, merging onto the M8 towards Glasgow. Follow signs for the M8 and A1 towards Edinburgh. Once you reach the outskirts of London, continue on the M25, then take the M11 exit towards Central London. Follow the signs for the A1210 and then the A200 towards Tower Bridge. Continue on the A200 until you reach St Katharine's Way. St. Katharine Docks Drawbridge & Locks will be on your right. Note: Parking may be limited, and there may be fees associated with parking in the area.

• Public Transportation

  From Sutherland, take the train from the nearest station to your location to Inverness. From Inverness, board a train to London King's Cross. Once in London, take the London Underground (Tube) from King's Cross St. Pancras station. Take the Circle line towards Tower Hill and get off at Tower Hill Station. From Tower Hill, it's about a 10-minute walk to St. Katharine Docks. Exit the station and head south on Tower Hill, then turn left onto Minories. Continue on Minories until you reach St. Katharine's Way, where you'll find the Drawbridge & Locks. Make sure to check the current train schedules and ticket prices.

• Bus

  If you prefer to travel by bus, you can take a bus from Sutherland to Inverness and then catch a National Express or Megabus service from Inverness to London. Once in London, use the local buses or the Tube to reach your destination. From Victoria Coach Station, take the London Underground (Tube) to Tower Hill station and follow the same walking directions as mentioned before. Note that bus fares vary, and it is advisable to book in advance for better prices.
