Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Sutherland, head northeast on the A9 towards Tain. Continue on the A9 for approximately 36 miles (58 km). Take the exit onto the A836 towards Lairg/Ardgay. After about 7 miles (11 km), turn left onto the B9176 towards Culrain. Follow this road for about 2 miles (3.2 km) until you reach Carbisdale Castle, which will be on your left. There is free parking available on-site.

    If you are using public transportation, take a train from Inverness to Ardgay station. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
