Dragon's Apprentice serves as a perfect starter coaster for younger guests visiting LEGOLAND Windsor. Nestled in the immersive Knight’s Kingdom area, this steel kiddie coaster offers a gentler ride experience compared to its larger counterpart, The Dragon. It is designed to build bravery and excitement in children who may not yet meet the height requirement for the bigger rides. The coaster’s track layout includes a single 360-degree downward helix, a tunnel, and a passage through a small castle turret, all contributing to a fairy-tale atmosphere.

The ride features a single train with six cars, each seating two riders side by side for a total of 12 guests per trip. The train itself is dragon-themed, enhancing the fantasy narrative as it winds around the miniature castle ruins and crosses over a moat. The ride’s gentle pace and smooth turns make it accessible for children as young as 0.9 meters tall, with supervision requirements easing as riders reach 1.3 meters in height. Guests are encouraged to hold on tightly and brace for the mild thrills, which include some strobe and flashing lights adding to the excitement.

Located in the heart of Knight’s Kingdom, Dragon's Apprentice is surrounded by medieval-themed decor and LEGO characters, including a LEGO courtier and his fair maiden, who greet riders on their way to the attraction. The area’s castle ruins and moat provide an enchanting backdrop, immersing visitors in a storybook world. The ride’s proximity to the larger Dragon coaster offers a visual progression for young guests aspiring to conquer more intense rides in the future.

The ride is designed with child safety in mind, requiring guests to be able to hold themselves upright without assistance during the ride. It is not recommended for guests with back or neck issues, heart conditions, high blood pressure, broken limbs, or pregnancy. The maximum number of adults per train is six, with a seating arrangement that places children on the right-hand side to ensure safety and comfort.
