Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the center of Cerro Arequita. Head northeast on Ruta 8 towards San Francisco de las Sierras. Continue on Ruta 8 for approximately 15 kilometers, following the signs for San Francisco de las Sierras. Once you reach the town, look for the signs directing you to Las Nubes. The exact location is HR5G+H3F, which is located a bit off the main road. There is no entry fee to access the park area surrounding Las Nubes, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition for the dirt roads leading to the site.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Cerro Arequita to San Francisco de las Sierras. Buses run several times a day, and tickets typically cost around 100-150 Uruguayan Pesos. Upon arriving in San Francisco de las Sierras, you will need to hire a local taxi or use a rideshare service to reach Las Nubes, as it is not within walking distance. Taxi fares can vary, so agree on a price beforehand. Expect to pay around 300-500 Uruguayan Pesos for the short trip to the park.

• Walking

  For the adventurous, if you are already in San Francisco de las Sierras, you can walk to Las Nubes. It is approximately a 5-kilometer hike from the town center. Head west on the main road out of town, and follow the signs for Las Nubes. Take care as some parts of the path may be unmarked or rugged. This option is free, but ensure you have plenty of water and wear proper hiking shoes.
