Car
To reach Anchorena National Park by car from Colonia, start by heading southwest on Avenida Artigas toward Calle 18 de Julio. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach Route 1. Turn left on Route 1 and drive for approximately 12 km. Take the exit toward Ruta 21/Colonia del Sacramento and merge onto Ruta 21. Follow this road for about 8 km. Look for signs indicating Cam. Aaron de Anchorena; turn right onto this road and follow it for around 3 km until you see the entrance to Anchorena National Park on your left. Make sure to have some cash on hand, as there may be a small entrance fee.
Public Transportation
To get to Anchorena National Park using public transportation, start by taking a taxi or local bus to the main bus terminal in Colonia. From there, look for a bus service that goes to Nueva Helvecia or another nearby town. You can check with local bus companies like 'COT' for the schedules and routes. Once you arrive at the nearest stop to the park (often a bit of a distance away), you may need to arrange for a local taxi to take you the remaining distance to Anchorena National Park, which is about 5-10 km away. Be sure to confirm the fare with the taxi driver beforehand.
