Car
From Durazno City Center, head south on Ruta 5. Continue for approximately 60 km until you reach the junction with Ruta 12. Take the exit towards Ruta 12 and continue for about 10 km. Follow signs for Villa Serrana. After entering Villa Serrana, continue straight for another 5 km. You will find Salto del Penitente on your left. Parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
Start at the Durazno Bus Terminal. Look for buses heading to Villa Serrana; these are typically operated by local companies such as 'COT' or 'COTRA'. The bus ride takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Villa Serrana, you may need to take a taxi or walk approximately 5 km to reach Salto del Penitente. Prepare to spend about 200-300 Uruguayan Pesos for the bus fare.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from Durazno city to Salto del Penitente. The taxi ride will take approximately 1 hour and will cost around 1,500 to 2,000 Uruguayan Pesos. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand.
