If you're driving from Punta del Este, take Route 10 (Ruta 10) heading east. Continue on Route 10 for approximately 15 km until you reach the intersection with Route 9 (Ruta 9). Turn left onto Route 9 and follow it for another 10 km. Look for signs indicating Playa el Emir. The beach is located near the town of La Barra in the Maldonado Department. Parking is available near the beach, but be aware that it can fill up quickly during peak hours.
Public Transportation
To reach Playa el Emir via public transportation from Punta del Este, take the bus heading to La Barra. Buses are frequent and can be caught at the Punta del Este bus terminal. The fare is generally around 50 Uruguayan pesos. Once you arrive at La Barra, it is about a 15-minute walk to Playa el Emir.
