If you are traveling by car from Lavalleja to the Artigas Mausoleum in Montevideo, take Route 8 (Ruta 8) heading southwest. Continue on this road for approximately 84 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 1 (Ruta 1). Merge onto Route 1 towards Montevideo. After about 22 kilometers, take the exit toward Avenida 18 de Julio. Follow Avenida 18 de Julio until you reach Plaza Independencia. The Artigas Mausoleum is located at Plaza Independencia 848, which is just a short walk from the plaza. Note that parking may be limited in the area, so plan accordingly.
Public Transportation
To reach the Artigas Mausoleum using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Lavalleja to Montevideo. Check the local bus schedules for the most convenient route, as there are multiple bus services available.
