If you are driving from the center of Lavalleja, take Route 8 towards the southeast. Continue for approximately 40 kilometers. As you approach the coastal area, follow signs for La Barra. Turn left onto Romildo Risso street. The Museo del Mar will be on your right. Parking is available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking fees.

From Lavalleja, take a bus to Maldonado. Buses leave frequently from the main terminal in Lavalleja. The fare is approximately 100 UYU. After arriving in La Barra, walk along Romildo Risso street; the museum will be on your left, just a few minutes away from the bus stop.
