Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the center of Maldonado, start at the Plaza San Fernando, which is located at the intersection of Avenida Aiguá and Calle 18 de Julio. From the plaza, walk south along Avenida Aiguá for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle 25 de Mayo. Turn left onto Calle 25 de Mayo and continue for approximately 500 meters until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenida de los Trabajadores. Keep walking for about 800 meters, and you will start to see the signs for Cerro Catedral. Follow the signs until you reach the base of the hill, where you can begin your hike to the top.

    From the central bus terminal in Maldonado, take bus number 14 towards Punta del Este. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Cerro Catedral'.
