Montoya Beach: A Serene Coastal Retreat

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the center of Maldonado, head southeast on Avenida Acuña de Figueroa toward Calle 18 de Julio. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the roundabout at the intersection with Ruta 10. Take the first exit onto Ruta 10 and walk along the sidewalk. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will see signs for La Barra. Continue walking until you reach a bridge over the river. Cross the bridge, and Montoya Beach will be just a short walk ahead on your right.

• Bus

  From the central bus station in Maldonado, take the bus labeled 'La Barra' (check the schedule for exact times). The bus will take you directly to La Barra. Once you arrive at La Barra, get off at the 'Montoya' stop. From there, walk about 500 meters towards the beach, following the signs for Montoya Beach. The beach is located just a short distance from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one from several shops in Maldonado. Start from the central square and head southeast on Avenida Acuña de Figueroa. Follow the same route as if you were walking, but cycling will get you to Montoya Beach faster. Stay on Ruta 10, and after crossing the bridge, you will see the beach entrance on your right.
