Getting There

• Bus

  From the main bus terminal in Maldonado, take the local bus to Punta Ballena. The buses are frequent, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which will take approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the stop closest to Playa Solanas. Ask the driver or fellow passengers for the Playa Solanas stop, as they will be familiar with it. After getting off the bus, walk approximately 10 minutes towards the coastline; you can follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the beach.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any location in Maldonado. Simply hail a taxi or call a local taxi service. Inform the driver that you are going to Playa Solanas, located in Punta Ballena. The journey will take approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before you start your trip.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, renting a bicycle in Maldonado is a great way to get to Playa Solanas. Start from the city center and head towards the coastal road. Follow the signs for Punta Ballena, which is a straight route along the coast. The bike ride should take about 1 hour. Be sure to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated during your ride.

• Walking

  If you're feeling energetic and want to explore, walking to Playa Solanas is possible. Start from the Maldonado city center and head southwest towards the coast. It's a long walk of approximately 1.5 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and take breaks as needed. Follow the coastal road towards Punta Ballena, and you will eventually reach Playa Solanas.
