Bus
If you're starting from the Ciudad Vieja area, walk to the main bus terminal, Terminal Tres Cruces, which is a short 15-minute walk away. Once at the terminal, look for the bus lines heading to the Plaza Independencia area. You can take bus lines 180, 186, or 187. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Plaza Independencia' and walk towards the street Juan Carlos Gómez. The Museo Histórico Cabildo de Montevideo will be just a 5-minute walk from the plaza, located at Juan Carlos Gómez 1362.
Walking
If you are near the Mercado del Puerto, you can simply walk to the museum. Head northwest on Calle Maciel, then turn right onto Calle Sarandí. Walk straight until you reach Plaza Independencia. From there, turn left onto Juan Carlos Gómez. The museum will be at number 1362, a short 10-minute walk from the Mercado del Puerto.
