To reach the Montevideo Metropolitan Cathedral from Rivera by car, start by heading southeast on Route 5 (Ruta 5) towards Montevideo. The drive is approximately 500 km and takes about 5 to 6 hours. Once you arrive in Montevideo, follow the signs for the city center. As you approach the city, you will take the exit toward Avenida 18 de Julio. Continue on this avenue until you reach Plaza Independencia. From Plaza Independencia, take Sarandí Street (Calle Sarandí) towards the east. Turn left onto Ituzaingó Street (Calle Ituzaingó), and the Cathedral will be on your right at number 1373.

If you are taking a bus from Rivera to Montevideo, head to the Terminal de Ómnibus de Rivera. Purchase a ticket for a bus to Montevideo; companies like COT and COPSA operate this route. The journey takes around 6 to 7 hours. Upon arrival at the Tres Cruces Bus Terminal in Montevideo, exit the terminal and take a taxi or local bus to Plaza Independencia. From there, walk east along Sarandí Street (Calle Sarandí), then turn left onto Ituzaingó Street (Calle Ituzaingó). The Montevideo Metropolitan Cathedral will be located at number 1373 on your right.
