Getting There

Car
If you are driving from the center of Rivera, head south on Avenida Sarandí. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout at Ruta 5. Take the second exit onto Ruta 5 (signs for Montevideo) and continue for about 4 kilometers. Look for signs for Montevideo and follow them as you merge onto Ruta 1. Continue on Ruta 1 for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. As you approach Montevideo, follow the signs for 'Centro' and then for 'Parque del Prado'. The park will be located on your right, and there is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation
From the center of Rivera, take a bus heading to Montevideo. This can be done by going to the Terminal de Ómnibus de Rivera and purchasing a ticket for the Montevideo bus service. The journey will take about 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Tres Cruces Terminal in Montevideo, you can take a local bus (such as Line 17) that goes towards Parque del Prado. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes from the terminal.
