From Rivera, take Route 5 southbound toward Tacuarembó. Continue on Route 5 for approximately 250 km (about 3 hours). Once you reach Tacuarembó, take Route 3 southbound. After about 80 km, follow the signs to Punta Ballena. You will merge onto Route 9, which will lead you directly to Punta Ballena in the Maldonado Department. There are no tolls on this route.
