If you are traveling by car, start your journey in Rocha Coast by heading towards Route 9 (Ruta 9). Follow Route 9 north until you reach the city of Montevideo, which is approximately a 2.5 to 3-hour drive. Once you enter Montevideo, follow the signs to the city center (Centro). You will want to look for Avenida 18 de Julio, which is a main thoroughfare. Continue on Avenida 18 de Julio until you reach Plaza Independencia. The Artigas Mausoleum is located at Pl. Independencia 848, right in the square. There is usually street parking available, but be aware of local parking regulations.
