Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Rocha. Head southeast on Route 9 (Ruta 9) for approximately 30 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Route 15 (Ruta 15) and turn left. Continue on Route 15 for another 20 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 19 (Ruta 19). Turn right onto Route 19 and travel for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs for Embalse de la India Muerta just before you arrive. The reservoir is located on the left side of the road.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take a bus from Rocha to the nearby town of Lascano. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Lascano, you can take a taxi to Embalse de la India Muerta, which is approximately 10 kilometers away. Ensure you confirm the taxi fare before starting your journey, as prices may vary.
Bicycle
If you are feeling adventurous and want to cycle, you can rent a bicycle in Rocha. Start on Route 9 heading southeast for about 30 kilometers, then turn left onto Route 15. After about 20 kilometers, turn right onto Route 19. The total distance from Rocha to Embalse de la India Muerta is approximately 60 kilometers, so be prepared for a long ride and bring plenty of water and snacks.
