Car
From any point in Sierra de Minas, head towards the main road leading south. Follow Route 8 towards Minas city. Continue straight for approximately 10-15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 60. Turn left onto Route 60. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Cerro Artigas. Stay on Route 60 for about 5 minutes, then turn right onto Escalera al Monumento. After a short drive, you will see the entrance to Cerro Artigas on your right.
Public Transportation
If you prefer using public transportation, look for buses heading towards Minas city. Once in Minas, you can take a local taxi or ride-sharing service to Cerro Artigas. The taxi ride from the bus terminal in Minas to Cerro Artigas will take about 10-15 minutes and cost roughly 150-200 Uruguayan Pesos. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, if you are staying in a nearby hotel or hostel in Sierra de Minas, you can consider walking to Cerro Artigas. It will take about 1-1.5 hours on foot, depending on your starting point. Just head south towards Route 8, then follow the same directions as if you were driving. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially if you're walking during the warmer parts of the day.
