Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Punta del Este, take Route 10 towards Jose Ignacio. Continue on Route 10 for approximately 40 km until you reach the town of Jose Ignacio. Once in Jose Ignacio, follow the signs towards the beach. Playa Vik is located at Calle Los Cisnes esq, C. Los Horneros s/n, Faro de José Ignacio. Look for the entrance to the resort which is well-marked. There is no parking fee at Playa Vik.

• Bus

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Montevideo to Punta del Este. You can catch a bus from the Tres Cruces terminal in Montevideo. The trip takes about 2 hours. Once in Punta del Este, transfer to a local bus heading to Jose Ignacio (check for the 'Jose Ignacio' sign). The local bus ride will take about 45 minutes. Get off at the stop nearest to Calle Los Cisnes. From there, it’s a short walk to Playa Vik located at Calle Los Cisnes esq, C. Los Horneros s/n, Faro de José Ignacio. The bus fare from Montevideo to Punta del Este is around 400 UYU (Uruguayan Pesos), and the local bus to Jose Ignacio costs about 100 UYU.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct route and convenience, you can take a taxi or a rideshare service like Uber from Punta del Este to Playa Vik. The drive will take around 30 minutes, and the fare is typically between 1000 and 1500 UYU, depending on traffic and time of day. This option is ideal for those traveling in groups or with luggage.
