Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Book Cliffs, head east on Highway 6. Continue on this road for approximately 25 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 191. Turn south onto Highway 191 and drive for about 10 miles. Look for the signs for Black Dragon Canyon, which is located near Green River, UT 84525. Once you spot the signs, take a left onto the dirt road where the signs indicate the canyon entrance. Follow the dirt road for about 2 miles until you reach the parking area near the canyon entrance. Be aware that the dirt road may require a high-clearance vehicle depending on weather conditions.

• Public Transportation

  If you're relying on public transportation, first take a Greyhound bus to Green River, UT. From the bus station, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the entrance of Black Dragon Canyon. It is approximately 15 miles from the bus station to the canyon. Ensure to check the local taxi services in advance, as they may not be readily available. The estimated cost for a taxi ride may range from $30 to $50, depending on local rates.

• Hiking

  For those who are already nearby and want to hike to Black Dragon Canyon, you can walk from the nearest camping area. From the camping area, follow the designated trail markers that lead towards Black Dragon Canyon. The hike is approximately 1.5 miles and will take you through beautiful desert scenery. Ensure you have plenty of water and sun protection, as the area can be quite hot.
